Our History
Listening to vinyl is more than just playing music. It's a ritual.
Choosing the record, sliding it out of its sleeve, placing it on the turntable, lowering the needle, and letting the sound fill the room. And if it's with a good cup of coffee, even better.
Back in the '90s, in Havana, when the power outages allowed it, our Soviet turntable would come to life in the middle of our living room. There wasn’t much else to do, so I’d play records from the ‘60s over and over while my grandfather told me stories about his life as a musician. He talked about the stage, endless nights, and songs that were never recorded. And even though some of those records weren’t as well cared for as I would have liked, they played as if they carried secrets hidden in their grooves.
My grandfather left many years ago, but he passed on his passion—to me. A love for music, for records, and for stories. And every time I place a vinyl on the turntable, I go back to the same place: our living room in Havana, sunlight filtering through the window, and my grandfather’s voice accompanying every note.
The years passed, but the ritual remained intact. Most afternoons, between coffee and vinyl, our conversations would drift from everything to nothing—work, crazy ideas, theories on how to fix the world. Until one day, in the middle of one of those talks, a question came up:
"Have you noticed how hard it is to find a decent vinyl storage unit?"
It was true. They were either flimsy, too heavy, or just plain ugly. The solution was obvious—do something about it.
It wasn’t just about making a piece of furniture. It was about respecting the ritual. Creating something functional, easy to transport, and versatile enough for both seasoned collectors and newcomers alike. Something worthy of the vinyl format.
That’s how Keep Them Spinning was born. What started as an idea over coffee and records turned into a brand with thousands of sales. But more than that, the ritual remains the same: every afternoon, a record, a coffee, and the excitement of creating storage solutions for those who love music as much as we do.
