What's the ideal turntable height and isolation?
Ear level when seated is optimal — for most people that's 28–32 inches from floor to platter. Our platform heights are tuned for this, and isolation comes from the material (solid wood), not gadgets. Flat and level matters more than spikes.
How much weight can the platform actually hold?
The Modular Foreigner and the Digger's Stack are both topped by an open batea, so nothing should be placed on them — for your turntable, choose the Vinyl Modular x4. We rate conservatively — turntables with subs and power amps shouldn't share the same platform.
Damping feet or spikes?
Spikes couple the turntable to the floor — if your floor vibrates, so does your deck. Soft feet or Sorbothane decouple. We recommend decoupled feet for 95% of home setups; spikes only for high-end isolation tables.
Stack vs Foreigner — which for turntable duty?
Both are topped by an open batea for browsing + LP storage below — nothing goes on top, so neither is for turntable duty. For your turntable, choose the Vinyl Modular x4 — and The Station, a dedicated solid-wood turntable console, is coming in early 2027.
