Taking care of your vinyl records is essential to preserve their sound quality and extend their lifespan. By combining the tools from your vinyl cleaning kit with the protection of anti-static inner sleeves, here’s a complete guide to keep your collection spotless—ready to spin and sound just like the first day.
1. Prepare your workspace
Choose a clean, flat surface where you can work comfortably.
Make sure your hands are clean to avoid transferring dirt or grease to the records.
Organize all the items from your vinyl record cleaning kit and turntable stylus cleaning tools, such as the anti-static vinyl cleaning brush, the vinyl cleaning fluid, and the stylus cleaning tools.
2. Clean the surface of the record
Remove dust
Use the anti-static vinyl record brush to gently remove dust in circular motions, following the grooves of the record.
This step reduces static and prepares the surface for a deeper clean.
Deep cleaning
Spray a small amount of vinyl record cleaning fluid directly onto the record’s surface.
Use the velvet vinyl brush to spread the solution evenly, making sure to reach any dirt embedded in the grooves.
Protect the record label using the protector included in the kit.
3. Clean the turntable stylus
Remove debris
Gently clean the stylus with the turntable stylus cleaning brush to remove dust and residue. This ensures precise playback without interference.
Apply cleaner
Apply a drop of vinyl and stylus cleaning fluid if necessary to remove persistent dirt.
Be careful—the stylus is delicate and requires special handling.
4. Final inspection before playing
Give the record one more pass with the anti-static vinyl cleaning brush to ensure there’s no remaining dust or static.
This guarantees clean and clear sound when playing your vinyl.
5. Protect your records with inner sleeves
Insert the record
Hold the vinyl by the edges to avoid fingerprint marks and gently slide it inside the anti-static HDPE inner sleeve.
These vinyl record inner sleeves prevent scratches and dust buildup.
Store inside the jacket
Place the now-protected vinyl inside its original jacket. If the fit is tight, use a large vinyl outer sleeve to make storage easier.
6. Store your collection correctly
Keep your records stored vertically in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Vinyl record storage sleeves and proper organization ensure your collection stays in perfect condition, ready for your next listening session.
