Most cheap outer sleeves are PVC — they look fine for 12 months, then plasticizers migrate to the jacket and the sleeve goes hazy, sticky, and yellow. BOPP doesn't. It stays crystal clear for a decade, doesn't react with the lacquer or inks, and reads the spine text without you having to pull the album out. This is the sleeve that protects original pressings, sealed copies, and anything you care about reselling later.

Outer sleeves protect three things at once: the jacket artwork from shelf wear, the spine print from sliding friction, and the cover from fingerprints and household humidity. The right sleeve does all three without yellowing or sticking to the jacket. Most cheap outers fail on the last point within 2-3 years.

• BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene), 70 microns — high transparency, no haze, doesn't yellow with age. Resists the plasticizer migration that turns cheap PVC sleeves cloudy and sticky.
• Inner dimensions 325 × 325 mm — fits standard 12" LPs including gatefolds. Slight tolerance for sealed sleeves with hype stickers and obi strips (the original packaging stays untouched).
• Resealable flap — folds over the open edge to keep dust out. Easy to remove for play, easy to reseal without tape residue.
• Crystal clarity — read the spine text without removing the sleeve. Critical when stacking records in modular storage — you find the album in 2 seconds, not 2 minutes.

Pack of 25. Most collectors run one outer per record in the active rotation (50-100 LPs) plus full coverage of any sealed/rare pressings.

Technical specifications

Why BOPP, not PVC or LDPE

PVC is cheap and stays clear short-term, but it leaches plasticizer into the printed cardboard, causing the cloudy yellow film you see on records sleeved 5+ years ago. LDPE is plasticizer-free but hazy and tears easily. BOPP is the audiophile/archival standard — used by Mobile Fidelity, Music Matters and every reissue house that doesn't want to ruin the source artwork. It costs slightly more per sleeve. It lasts roughly 10× longer.
