A flip-back frame designed for the record you're playing this week, not the one you'll never touch.

Most vinyl frames are made for posters — fixed back, screw-down, and no UV protection. The artwork yellows in a year and you stop swapping records because it's a 5-minute job each time. This frame solves both: UV-filter acrylic to protect the print, flip-tab back so you can change the album in 10 seconds, and dimensions calibrated to actual 12" sleeve specs (not a generic 30 cm).

A vinyl frame is two things in one: a UV-protective display and an instant-swap mount for the album currently in heavy rotation. Both jobs require very specific specs — most cheap frames fail at least one.

  • Inner cavity 305 × 305 × 4 mm — fits a 12" LP (standard 312 mm sleeve) without compression. Many "12-inch" frames online actually have inner cavities of 300 mm and crush the sleeve corners.
  • UV-filtering acrylic front (not glass) — blocks 96 % of UV up to 380 nm. Album artwork from the 70s-90s used dyes that bleach in 6-12 months under direct sun. Acrylic also doesn't shatter if it falls — important if your turntable is below the wall mount.
  • Flip-tab back — open one tab, swap the record, close in 10 seconds. No screws, no clips. Designed for the "now playing" wall, not for permanent display of a single album.
  • Wall + freestanding — comes with a sawtooth wall hanger (portrait or landscape) and a folding stand for shelf placement. Both included.

Why UV protection matters more than people think

Album sleeves from the 70s and 80s used early offset inks that fade fast under direct sun. We've seen original pressings of Pink Floyd, Steely Dan and Fleetwood Mac lose 30-40 % of their saturation in less than a year of being hung in a sunlit room. The acrylic in this frame blocks 96 % of UV — the practical difference between a sleeve you can sell at original value and one nobody wants.

Pairs well with

For a full "now playing" wall, the Flying V wall display holds the active record and 50 LPs of rotation; this frame elevates the cover artwork to art. Many collectors run one Flying V plus four frames per wall.
